The Difference Between Good-Looking and Cool

● original essay ●

Until I learned meanings of “good-looking” and “cool”, I had no idea of that they actually had different meanings.

Yesterday at the lesson, I talked to Joshua about Steven Tyler, a vocalist of Aerosmith. And I told him a reason why he was so cool to me his bluesy singing voice, unique dancing etc. with the wrong way to use of words.

I believed that “cool” included the meaning of “good-looking”, and a cool parson must be good-looking. Because when people look up the meanings of these words “good-looking”, “hand-some” and “cool”   in English-Japanese dictionaries, they see a word, “kakkoii”(in Japanese). I had completely misunderstood.

I was helped by a fact that Steven Tyler was not good-looking but he was so cool. If he were good-looking, I would never know the meaning of the difference between “good-looking” and “cool”

Thank Joshua for correcting my mistake, and Thank Steven Tyler for your coolness.

Look at this!
Steven Tyler is the coolest 61 years old guy in the world, isn’t he?

Yesterday, in the lesson, I talked to Joshua about Steven Tyler, the vocalist for Aerosmith. I told him the reason why he was so cool to me. It was his bluesy singing voice and unique dancing, also way of using words the wrong way! (It was his bluesy singing voice and unique dancing; also his way of using words the wrong way!)
